Tom van Stiphout admits to be a bit OCD about naming convention. For example the design of Northwind makes him cringe. Names with spaces and perhaps other funny characters may cause notational difficulties when writing queries or VBA.

What would it take to clean that up?

He decided to try it, and it got a bit out of hand but in the end he was able to clean up 97% programmatically; the rest by hand.

Each type of object needs its own approach. For some DoCmd.Rename is all you need, while others such as SQL, macros, and VBA code need entirely custom approaches.

In the end you have Northwind back, with everything following the convention. Code will be made available.
