Topic Outline:
In this month’s presentation, Alessandro Grimaldi will show several examples of his Access interactive interfaces, including some already presented at Access DevCon in recent years to great acclaim.
In this session, to address the many requests he has received, Alessandro will also go ‘behind the scenes’, and outline the code structure of his ‘drag and drop’ engine, on which most of these examples are based. This procedure, and other methods he uses to create his interfaces, are detailed in his forthcoming e-book Advanced interactive interfaces with Access, which will shortly be published by the American publisher APress (details to follow on release).
Depending on the time available, Alessandro will also outline one or both of the following:
a) introduce his next book, which describes several ways to create sliders with Access
b) show a quick preview of the application he is currently working on, an innovative ribbon builder.
Background:
Alessandro has been a programmer since 1983 and a VBA developer since 1998. He is the co-chair of the Access Europe User Group.
For several years Alessandro was a consultant for the United Nations in various countries (Italy, Afghanistan, North Korea, Ethiopia, Austria), creating dozens of Office applications, from simple automation tools to corporate level, multiuser, Oracle based applications. He has specialised in the creation of graphical interfaces in Access since 2006.
He has lived in Frankfurt since 2014, where for five years he worked as a VBA developer for the European Central Bank.
