Access VCS Add-in – Highlights along the Journey with Adam Waller
Please join us for our Monthly Chapter Presentation at 6:30PM Pacific (UTC -8) on February 6th, 2025.
Adam Waller will join us to discuss his Access Version Control add-in.
Adam will lead a “Developers’ Walkthrough”, reviewing the add-in project and talking over various challenges and solutions he encountered along the way.
Highlighted Topics include:
- Sanitizing the project to reduce noise and make comparisons easier
- The Ribbon interface for the Add-in using TwinBASIC
- Merge without rebuild to facilitate team collaboration
- Performance Tuning to make the tool fast and easy and easy to use

About Adam Waller
Adam Waller is a seasoned Microsoft Access developer with over 25 years of experience designing, building, and supporting custom database applications. His career began at 18, fresh out of high school, when he was mentored by a network administrator who introduced him to Microsoft Access and VBA programming. Since then, Adam has developed and optimized numerous applications and integrations, streamlining workflows, automating processes, and empowering businesses to manage data more effectively.
On GitHub, Adam is known by the username “joyfullservice” and serves as the maintainer of the popular msaccess-vcs-addin repository. This open-source tool has become one of the leading solutions for integrating source control into Microsoft Access database development, enabling developers to utilize systems like Git more effectively. Under Adam’s stewardship, the add-in has seen significant advances, benefiting Access developers around the world.
