David Nealey and Alessandro Grimaldi will speak on “Using TTS in Access”.  David will show how he adapted (with the help of Adrian Bell) a Word macro to use in Access using the Microsoft Speech library.  Alessandro will talk about how to build a simple class to make Access read a text box aloud, using Microsoft Speech voices.

Bio 1: David Nealey, PhD is a retired Bid Forensics Consultant, Capture/Proposal Manager, Volcanic Geologist, US Army (MI) Veteran.  He is developing a proposal management system using Microsoft Access for fun and pleasure.  His forte is using out-of-the-box functionality in Access to do innovative things.

Bio 2: Alessandro Grimaldi has been a programmer since 1983 and a VBA developer since 1998, for several years Alessandro was consulting for the United Nations in different countries (Italy, Afghanistan, North Korea, Ethiopia, Austria), creating dozens of Office applications, from simple automation tools to corporate level, multiuser, Oracle based applications. Since 2014 he has lived in Frankfurt where for five years he worked as a VBA developer for the European Central Bank.
